The second half of the 20th century was marked by a monuments falling campaign — the dismantling of monuments to military and political figures associated with repression, genocide, or war. Ukraine is now going through a similar process, getting rid of the Soviet past. Zaborona’s journalists Anastasiya Opryshchenko and Daniel Lekhovitser created a comic strip about the memorial practices of interaction with monuments — from burying the Columbus monument to turning Lenin into Hydra.
