The exhibition “War Diaries: Unheard voices of Ukrainian children”  will open in the USA

The Ukrainian project “War Diaries: Unheard Voices of Ukrainian Children” opens the exposition of the exhibition of the same name in the cities of the United States of America. On 29 May, the exhibition will be presented in New York at the Ukrainian Institute of America. 

In general, the exhibition “War Diaries” covers 14 touching stories of children from different parts of Ukraine: Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv regions.The exhibition presents children’s diaries, notes, drawings and personal belongings.

The main goal of the project is to draw public attention to the problem of the emotional state of Ukrainian youth, who witnessed the war, and create a reliable platform for children, thanks to which their unique stories about the experiences will be heard.

The initiator of the project “War Diaries: Unheard Voices of Ukrainian Children” is visionary Khrystyna Khranovska. The presentation of the diaries in the USA will be the fifth point in the route map of the exhibition.

“Every day, the statistics of victims of the war in Ukraine are increasing. Behind these cold numbers are human fates, dreams, pain and memories. A world preoccupied with its own problems cannot always grasp the depth of our grief. Streams of information pouring from screens make the tragedy distant and abstract. But we, Ukrainians, cannot remain silent. That is why we will soon present our project in the USA. This exhibition is a real stories-memories of young Ukrainians of  the first months of a full-scale invasion. I sincerely believe that these stories will be able to convey to the hearts of people the truth about the events in Ukraine”, –  said Khrystyna Khranovska.

The exhibition will last until June 7 at 2 East 79th Street, 10075 New York City.  Entrance is free.

After the exposition of the exhibition in New York, the organizers plan to open it in other US cities.

Recall that the exhibition has already taken place at the Amsterdam City Hall in August 2023, in the capital of Ukraine in October 2023, during the PACE winter session in Strasbourg at the end of January and in Germany in February 2024.
