We do not accept funding from oligarchic foundations, organizations or other structures that raise questions about the origin of money, as well as from government agencies. We care about our reputation and the interests of our audience are important to us in the first place. Our budget consists of private donations, investments by socially oriented companies, foundations and international organizations, advertising and monthly subscriptions of our patrons at Patreon. We regularly undergo internal financial and organizational audits and report to the tax authorities and partners.

Zaborona has a transparent funding model that consists of readers’ contributions to Patreon , grants from international organizations and partnerships. The Open Society Foundation, the National Endowment for Democracy, Free Press Unlimited and Journalismfund.eu support the editorial board.
